Where your key goes: each request sends it from this browser to this app's stateless pass-through (/api/public/el), which forwards it over HTTPS to api.elevenlabs.io and returns the response. The pass-through doesn't log or store keys or request bodies, and only forwards the endpoints this app uses. In the browser the key lives in this tab's memory (or sessionStorage if you tick “Remember for this tab”), never in URLs, analytics, snippets or exports. Why not call ElevenLabs directly? Browsers can reach the API, but it hides the character-cost and request-id headers from JavaScript.
